Yandiya Technology intelligent sensors enhance the performance of smart heating systems by providing accurate environmental monitoring and seamless integration with both WiFi and Zigbee control networks. Designed to work alongside infrared heating panels, these sensors continuously measure room temperature and occupancy levels, helping to maintain optimal comfort while minimizing energy consumption.

Choosing the right sensor depends on how a room is used and where waste heat typically occurs. A temperature and humidity sensor is the right starting point for most rooms, giving the thermostat accurate real-world readings rather than relying on estimated cycle times. Homes with unoccupied guest rooms or offices with meeting rooms that sit empty for hours benefit most from the infrared motion sensor, which lets panels drop to standby rather than heat empty space. Window and door sensors pay for themselves quickly in older properties, where an open window during a heating cycle can otherwise waste a significant share of a panel's output before anyone notices. The ambient light sensor is best paired with south-facing rooms or conservatories, where solar gain already contributes warmth for part of the day.
Every Yandiya sensor is engineered specifically to work alongside our aluminium, glass, and mirror infrared panels rather than as a generic add-on. Because far infrared panels respond quickly once powered, accurate occupancy and temperature data lets the system avoid the overshoot and lag common with slower convection heating, so rooms reach a comfortable temperature and hold it without cycling on and off unnecessarily. Zigbee sensors mesh directly with Yandiya relays and thermostats for low-latency local control that keeps working even if a WiFi connection drops, while WiFi models suit installations where a Zigbee hub isn't already present. For multi-room projects, we recommend starting with one temperature sensor per zone and adding motion or window sensors to the rooms with the most variable occupancy or draught exposure.
